Yugoslav cinema punched well above its weight during the 1960s and 70s, when the Novi Film movement produced irreverent, politically sharp work that sat awkwardly with the authorities. Emir Kusturica later carried that anarchic energy onto the world stage, and his sprawling Underground is a good place to start. See what Macca made of it below.
